2023 Vineyard Update

We’ve had some picture-perfect weather the last 2 months, and that is putting us on track for another sensational vintage here in Washington State. Warm and dry was the theme for May and June, and what started out like a late vintage due to the delayed budbreak (10-20 days behind normal in most sites) saw us catching up in no time, so much so that the time period between budbreak and bloom was one of the shortest that we can remember. We’ve been trending ahead of 2015 as far as Growing Degree Days (GDD) and that was our hottest vintage on record. But 2015 saw 10 days in a row over 100 starting at the end of June and it never let up from there. If we have a “normal” summer we should track a little below 2015 and see harvest starting beginning of September.
