SMALL PAUL VINE(YL) ALBUM RELEASE AND CONCERT

  • Sleight of Hand Cellars 4820c 1st Avenue South Seattle, WA, 98134 United States (map)

To our amazing club members! We have a very special album release AND concert at our SODO location coming to you on Friday, November 17th! We are so extremely excited to welcome the band Small Paul (Listen on Spotify) to our SODO space!!! We’ve been fans of this local Seattle outfit ever since they played a Sonic Guild show for us last year. And when they mentioned they were in the studio finishing up a new album, we jumped at the chance to help them with this release. As always, we have a variant color vinyl JUST for our club members, so it is always a bit more special. Opening the show will be local singer/songwriter Mike Frazier (Listen on Spotify).

You can secure tickets to this show for only $10 each for all out club members, and $15 for non-members. It’s going to be such a celebratory night of music, wine, and friends! Please snag your tickets HERE and help support live music in Seattle. We will have a few extra copies of the vinyl on hand! Snag your tickets today!

DOORS AT 7pm and show at 8PM!

ABOUT SMALL PAUL
Sunshine and storm clouds converge at the core of Seattle’s harmony-heavy, Folky Rock and Roll band Small Paul. Born in and raised Seattleite Kevin Murphy (leader of The Moondoggies) shares drumming and guitar duties with California’s born and raised Chris King (leader of the Chris King & The Gutterballs). Chris brings bandmate and collaborator Malcolm Roberts into the fold on bass guitar and harmony and Seth McDonald to fill it out on keyboard and harmony (member of Hip Hop band All Star Opera). These different perspectives all pulled together create the vibe that is Small Paul.

ABOUT THE NEW ALBUM

'Come Alive & Live Again' is the debut album from Small Paul produced by Erik Blood (Shabazz Palaces, Tacocat, Moondoggies) in the fall of 2022. While originally bonding over the shared love of Wings, NRBQ sounding records and singing harmony together late into the night, Small Paul became an outlet and excuse to reckon and engage with each individual's own past and present struggles and to use music as an outlet to create light out of dark days. Their debut album, 'Come Alive & Live Again' reflects themes of rebirth and renewal, and pulling oneself into the light. While songs like, “A Midnight Sun”, “Miner for a Dream”, “Live Along” reflect hope for better days today and ahead — “Some Love”, “I Don’t Wanna Die”, and “Sinkin’ like a Stone (acoustic)” are opportunities to reflect on the past and grow, and let go. Then there are lighter upbeat songs like “Laugh it Off” and “Amber Light”, which are reminders to not take yourself so seriously all the time. Furthermore, a reminder to try and have a healthy acceptance and perception of the unpredictability of life.

Small Paul has created a limited edition smokey clear blue vinyl LP of 'Come Alive & Live Again' exclusively for Sleight of Hand Cellars Vine(yl) Club.
