Night three of the 2026 SMASH x Sleight of Hand series: great local music, exceptional wine, and open conversations about musicians’ health. Doors at 5, a short Musicians’ Health Panel at 6, then two sets in a room that feels less like a club and more like a shared living room.

mega cat makes genre-bending instrumental music pulling from punk, jazz, funk, afrobeat, psychedelia, and hip-hop. The band started as lockdown jams between Kim West and Ryan Devlin (Smokey Brights) and Aaron Benson (Siberian, Cataldo, Pickwick), then grew into a full live band with guitarist Dave Dederer (Presidents of the United States of America) and percussionist Jacob Whinihan. Their 2024 self-titled debut became a KEXP favorite and led to an in-studio session with Kevin Cole.

Shelby Earl is a Seattle singer-songwriter known for a powerful, unmistakable voice and emotionally direct songs. NPR Music’s Ann Powers named her a new favorite songwriter after her debut, Burn the Boats; Damien Jurado produced the follow-up, Swift Arrows; and Ben Gibbard has called hers the most heartbreakingly beautiful voice in Seattle.

SMASH (Seattle Musicians Access to Sustainable Healthcare) connects local musicians with musician-informed health navigation, dental care, hearing protection, mental health counseling, and more. Proceeds from the night help move member musicians off waitlists and into care.
