PRESTIDIGITATION! An enchanted convening of true and sincere friends, benefitting The Vera Project, at Sleight of Hand Cellars SoDo.
5:00–7:00 PM · Open house gallery showing, with a posters exhibition by VERA's Screen Print & Gallery Committee
7:00–9:00 PM · Concert with local artists Nodaphone and Ladifa
Featuring work from three of VERA's youth-led volunteer committees, the evening celebrates a longstanding friendship between VERA and the sly crew at Sleight of Hand, plus twenty-five years of making noise, free expression, and community in Seattle. Come help build VERA's next quarter-century of local, independent music and underground culture; community built outside of profit.
Show poster by VERA member Kristina Smethers.
About The Vera Project: an all-ages nonprofit space dedicated to fostering personal and community transformation through collaborative, youth-driven engagement in music and art. Music venues, a screen print shop, recording studio, art gallery, and safe space for radical self-expression; a premier home to Seattle's creative community.
About Nodaphone: certified organic music; alive, tasty, and mostly good for you. A shapeshifting sound drawing on neo-soul grooves, jazz textures, and folk lyricism. Say hi on IG @nodaphonemusic.
About Ladifa: since her solo-piano cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" went viral in 2021, Seattle's Ladifa has honed a diary-adjacent songwriting in the lineage of Joni Mitchell and Phoebe Bridgers, now championed by Shamir on his Accidental Popstar Records label.
